If you didn’t follow me last year, and you missed my explanation of Protocol…You can find here: Protocol Formal.
This year’s theme was the Phantom of the Opera. We met at a historic hotel in our city for a reception & dinner, and ended the evening attending a showing of Phantom of the Opera.
I decided to go with a Spanish flair this year. It was so much fun prepping for the formal. I did my own make up, and had planned to do my own hair, but changed my mind at the last minute (I don’t recommend changing your mind at the last minute but luckily it all worked out). Hopefully you’ll enjoy the tips & photos.
Reds…Who knew there were so many shades of red?
To compliment to Spanish look I was going for I wanted to wear red lipstick, and that turned out to be more of an ordeal than I thought (matte, gloss, orange-red, blue-red, lip liner, etc.). Three lipsticks into it and I finally found the right color. The winner was Sephora’s Cream Lip Stain – Strawberry Kissed – Matte Finish.
Tip 1: Make it easy…Use a clear lip liner.
Tip 2: Use material from alterations to make a choker necklace.
